Alejandro Gonzalez appointed new COO | CFO at Ray Sono  

  • Alejandro Gonzalez joins Ray Sono from TUI AG

Munich, February 15, 2023: Digitalisation trailblazer, Ray Sono, specialist in digital business models, products and services, appoints Alejandro Gonzalez as their new COO | CFO. The 46-year-old take responsibility for management of performance, project and quality by driving strategic business processes at the Munich-based company. Following years of success at TUI Group, where he most recently Director Digital Commerce Future Markets, Gonzalez brings his expertise to Ray Sono's international digital business as he steps into this newly created position. 

Alejandro will be a key driving force and organisational asset for us in many areas that will also benefit our customers too. His sense of innovation will create synergies, make internal processes even more agile, and enable our future portfolio and performance to become reality.

Gonzalez will be part of the C-level management and represent the operational business side, focusing on implementing Ray Sono's growth course and continuously optimising internal procedures, processes, and projects. His responsibilities include project staffing, quality management, and controlling. In his function as COO | CFO, Gonzalez aims to increase the creation and performance value of the company, using his hands-on mentality and expertise in organisation and customer orientation for the benefit of customers and Rays alike.

Making a name for himself in the tourism industry over 20 years with TUI Group, Alejandro Gonzalez shaped the global company through a number of roles. Most recently, he drove the group's e-commerce business in new markets for Accommodation only - focusing on data science and on optimising portfolios and prices in international markets. During his time at the tourism giant, which he joined in 2002, Gonzalez was responsible for Product Management, Retail Distribution, Brand & Performance Marketing, and much more, as well as steering Product Management, Retail Sales and Customer Relationship Management in his capacity as General Manager - Flight Only. He subsequently took over the role of Managing Director Chief Marketing Officer, setting the company’s strategic course and making the airline & OTA sales platform TUIfly fit for the future.
