The challenge

Ensuring seamless digital logistics processes 

Historically, DACHSER had managed customer shipments through multiple portals. Therefore, the goal was to create a unified platform that ensures seamless logistics processes across all modes of transport.    DACHSER required a centralis system to enhance usability, provide real-time tracking and consolidate existing processes into a modern interface.

What we did

A state-of-the-art platform that consolidates all processes

The DACHSER Single Point of Contact (SPoC) Plattform brings together the services of Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics within a unified, user-friendly interface, streamlining shipment management.     It centralises the management of shipments and provides digital access to all relevant documents. The platform also features real-time tracking capabilities, enhancing transparency throughout the supply chain.    Moreover, continuous optimization is ensured based on ongoing user interviews and usage data.

How we did it

A collaborative approach to innovation

Our process began with conducting research in the areas of customer needs and technology to develop user requirements and a high-level solution architecture.    A dedicated Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development team, consisting of experts from both Ray Sono and DACHSER, was established to drive the efficient creation of innovative solutions in line with the highest standards, ensuring alignment with the platform’s requirements profile. This collaboration emphasises continuous research focused on enhancing user experience and addressing customer needs throughout the development journey.     The product is being further developed in iterative phases, with each roll-out incorporating real-time user feedback. Our teams operate in an interdisciplinary and agile manner, using the SAFe model to ensure effective scaling and customisation. This structured yet flexible approach makes it possible to deliver a solution that truly resonates with users and adapts to the dynamic logistics landscape.

The result

The result is a comprehensive and user-friendly solution: the new platform not only enhances the user experience, but also consolidates DACHSER’s logistics processes, driving efficiency and transparency.

What we learned

The project demonstrates the importance of user-centric development and agile methods. Continuous feedback and innovative solutions are only possible thanks to our close collaboration with DACHSER. Together, we see that a strong partnership leads to more effective solutions in logistics. We continuously refine our approach based on the needs and experiences of real users. Thanks to this collaborative process, the platform not only performs better – it also highlights how much teamwork contributes to achieving shared goals.

This project marks a significant milestone in the digitisation of logistics processes. The DACHSER platform’s real-time, transparent presentation seamlessly integrates our core competencies in strategy, IT, service design (SXD), user experience (UX) and design. It embodies the high standards of digital transformation we aspire to for ourselves and our clients.
