Supporting digital transformation since 1992

Ray Sono accompanies companies throughout their digital change processes. Our industry profile is broad: from Audi and Adobe to Deutsche Bahn, Hartmann, and Zeppelin. As a subsidiary of the globally active technology group Voith, we have been operating the VOITH INNOVATION LAB since 2020, which lets us raise the potential of Industry 4.0 across all business areas.

Project Management: Course setters in a digital agency

Our project managers (m/f/x) are part of a customer team and our tech specialist teams. You are the first point of contact for new challenges from our customers, which you break down into solvable work packages together with our specialists. You do this using qualitative and quantitative research, diverse innovation methods, and smart project management. Most of our projects are long-term (6+ months) and "excitingly complex". You handle many people, needs and requirements while managing and guiding our customers. The result is an environment in which everyone feels comfortable, works well, and optimally solves challenges and problems.

In your role as Senior Project Manager (m/f/x)…

… you accompany and drive innovation, product development, and transformation processes.

… you ensure the organisational, financial, and substance-related concerns of our customers and the team.

… you obtain requests from customers, complement them, structure them, and convert them into achievable work packages.

… you can assess what content, personnel, financial means, and time are needed to accomplish the desired project output.

… you compile the right roles on your accounts and organise them internally and externally, together with responsible team members.

… you organise the project team, set up regular meetings, and are responsible for the communication and reporting structure.

… you have a proven tool set for opportunity and risk assessment, identify opportunities and risks, and manage them accordingly.

… you are sensitive to when a project needs more freedom – or more pressure – to reach the common goal and thus show your team you understand them.

… you suggest and reflect on the next steps and tasks and obtain the team's commitment to them.

… you recognize project-critical challenges and independently look for solutions.

… you manage your own time well and steer your project team via a transparent, clear, and coordinated schedule and/or backlog.

… you love thinking outside the box; coupled with your skill at connecting with others, you easily coordinate different interests and create understanding.

… you hold convincing presentations and (remote) meetings.

… you independently take responsibility for your budget.

… you estimate financial expenses and create clear offers.

To give you a better idea of a typical workday, here are some of our representative questions:

  • What information is still necessary for a project request after my team session with our customers? Which agency members do I need to get off to a good start? What can be initiated and planned now?
  • How can I improve the conceptual output of an IoT application that some of the project team and customers are unhappy with?
  • What coordination and regular meetings does my project team need to remain motivated and retain a meaningful exchange between the different focus teams? Who needs help to solve their appointed tasks?

Contribute what makes you special

We are a diverse team with many types of expertise – and we are convinced that you can be a valuable team member even without a specific degree or branch experience.

Whether you are a research assistant and would like to work in "real life", whether you would like to settle down at an agency, or whether you are a start-up product manager and would like more variety – tell us why we should get to know each other and which one of our issues particularly interests you!

Our expectations

  • You are confident leading and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Your broad knowledge ranging from supply to technology will make you indispensable for your team and colleagues.
  • You are solution-oriented and have a great sense of quality and responsibility.
  • You want to accompany our customers along their digital transformation and learn about their challenges.
  • You have a set of tools and experience to fall back on but aren’t afraid of tasks you've never done.
  • You enjoy sharing your wealth of experience in service and customer relationships with your team.

What you can expect from us

Meaningful projects

We don’t just communicate and make PowerPoint slide decks. We develop and support our clients in the long term – in exciting industries and technologies. We work with end users and management. We don’t just make recommendations; we also build and develop. We experience the effects of our work – and use this knowledge to improve.

Your ideal workplace

Remotely from your home office, in one of our beautiful city centre hubs in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main or Munich – or a mixture of both? Crucial: Where can you work most easily and efficiently with your team and your clients? Whether you prefer a Mac or PC, we provide you with the optimal equipment.

Consultancy and travel

In our projects, we have a say as to when on-site appointments make sense – and when they do not. This lets us reduce travel as well as act sustainably.

Work-life balance

We offer fair overtime compensation from the first minute on, flexible working hours, sabbaticals, and special or educational leave.

We have many parents in our teams – working both full- & part-time. In Munich, we even have some reserved childcare spots at a partner nursery school. We also enable job-sharing in management positions.

You have the option of a Bahncard 50 and a Job-Rad. Do you have a customer appointment that’s inconvenient to reach with public transportation? Then grab one of our hybrid company automobiles from the vehicle pool.

Communication – inside and outside of our teams

We keep in touch and stick together. Online and offline. We provide good project onboarding – together we find out where and how you can have the best impact. Various team and Ray Sono formats provide support and create space for internal communication.

Continuing education & career paths

You participate in our numerous internal "Ray Academy" formats and create a personal development plan with your manager – including external coaching or customised training measures. Regardless of whether your long-term goal is personnel responsibility, professional leadership, or something else entirely, we support you along your journey.

Become part of our culture

Whether you are the top scorer in the "RasenMayors” Football Club, have the best skateboard or inline skating choreography in the "RollingRays" or are a new singing talent in "RayC/DC", our own band, you’ll definitely find like-minded people. You can also get involved in one of our pro bono projects ("Ray Helps") and assist the Tabaluga Children's Foundation, for example.
