Servus, I'm Markus and hopefully your next team lead. I've been a Ray since 2010 and have been through almost every level as a designer. In the past eleven years, I have had the privilege of working as a designer for numerous clients, such as Deutsche Bahn and MAN. The focus of my work is on systematic design that offers enough space for creativity. The professional proximity to our developers is particularly important to me.
I am always open to hearing your questions and issues and will always discuss your further development with you.
As soon as you start, I will introduce you to our XD team and show you what is important to us and what makes us so special. Our team consists of more than 30 helpful experience design experts with different expertise in UX, visual, motion and content design. Mutual support is very important to us.
During your first few days, you will be accompanied by your personal Ray Insider, who will introduce you to the entire company from his or her perspective.

These jobs await you as a Design Operator (all genders) in our XD team
- You understand how to develop design systems that can be applied to a variety of digital channels.
- You establish sustainable standards and document, maintain and manage them so that they can be shared across many product teams.
- You ensure smooth handovers to the developers.
- You take care of regular updates to the team and communicate the system progress.
- You provide support with layouts and screen design.
- Ideally, you also create prototypes and clickflows.
- You like to share your knowledge with the other experience designers.
- You are familiar with current trends and tools in the industry and act as a creative driving force in the team.
- You regularly coordinate with the product teams (PO/XD/Dev), take part in release planning activities and coordinate requirements.
The team leads will be at your side from the very beginning.
Bring in what makes you special. This should include:
- You have relevant professional experience in building and optimising design systems.
- You are experienced in using tools such as Figma, Sketch, XD, Frontify, Zeroheight, Storybook and Confluence.
- You have expert knowledge in design tokens, autolayout, variants and nested components.
- You have an affinity for systematics and complex digital ecosystems.
- You have a strong empathy for users, their context and situations.
- You are design-savvy in all digital channels and platforms (app, applications, web, eCommerce, etc.).
- You have a good understanding of brands and design guidelines.
- You are always up-to-date with all relevant developments in tools, plugins and working methods around design operations.
- You have technical know-how (Bootstrap, Vue, React, Angular, Mobile Native, etc.) and experience in working with agile development teams under SCRUM and in agile working methods.
- You like to work independently, are responsible and have a high quality awareness.
- You think and act analytically, solution-oriented and efficiently.
- You are structured and able to prioritise parallel tasks quickly.
- You have a degree in digital design, interaction design, interface design, communication design, interactive media or comparable training with relevant professional experience.
- You have very good written and spoken German and English skills.

Our projects are varied in terms of scope, topics and complexity. We cover almost the entire digital spectrum. For example, McDonalds marketing campaigns, a corporate website for Bayern Tourismus, and highly functional product & service developments for Voith. In our team, we XDs are strategic, conceptual, creative, innovative, consultative and operative. Often agile, often in Scrum and always very close to the user.
We love overcoming the challenges of our customers and the problems of their users. We always have the optimal solution in mind: attractive, relevant and holistic digital experiences that inspire. Always in a team, always interdisciplinary.
Good communication within the team is important to us
We achieve good results together. Our communication formats help us to benefit from the professional diversity of our team.
In our weekly breakfast session, we exchange ideas on current projects, show our results and talk about learnings.
Every two months we take time for our Open Space and mutual training. Always happy to have external guests as well. I am particularly proud of our last Figma Special: it was organised by Jana, Belinda and Marc and had the quality of a conference – even remote!
For focus topics such as user research, our specialists form small working groups and drive these topics forward professionally.
In the daily doing we help each other with sparring, the 4-eyes principle and thus increase the quality of our projects.
I myself have learned the most directly in the projects. I trust my XDs and place a lot of value on working independently at eye level. In my view, this is the best way to learn and grow.
